Burlington Academy of Music is proud to provide high-quality music education in a welcoming and supportive environment for students of all ages. As part of the Academy of Music family, we continue a long-standing tradition of helping children, teens, and adults build confidence, creativity, and lifelong musical skills.
Conveniently located at 1234 Advance Rd., just east of Guelph Line at Mainway, our Burlington studio offers private music lessons on piano, guitar, voice, violin, ukulele, and drums. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your playing to the next level, our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping every student succeed and enjoy their musical journey.

PIANO
Introducing piano lessons to your children is one of the best things you can do for them! There are countless studies that show the value of learning music for all ages. The Academy of Music offers private piano lessons in Burlington for young children through to adults of all ages and levels from beginners, to intermediate & advanced.
GUITAR
Our one-on-one private guitar lessons in Burlington mean that the teacher can focus on your individual learning style. Private lessons also mean that you are able to learn the type of music you enjoy the most.
VOICE/SINGING
Burlington Academy of Music offers private voice and singing lessons for children age 7 and up or adults of all ages and levels. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, or R&B singer we have the right vocal teachers for you!
Students spend time in each singing lesson doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favourite recording artists, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.
VIOLIN (5+)
Private violin lessons in Oakville are offered to students of all ages and levels with Royal Conservatory of Music, Suzuki, or a blend of both methods. Core music principles are emphasized through solid violin programs at the Academy of Music, starting with the fundamentals – learning the parts of the violin, proper finger placement and bow hold.
Drums (6+)
Our drum lessons can include pop, rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other drum styles. Drum language can be complex and our instructors will challenge each drum student with technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort.
UKULELE
Our Burlington ukulele lessons are great for all ages. Whether you want to play folk music, Beatles, or Jason Mraz, our professional teachers will guide you through the skills of reading music, improvisation, playing by ear, music theory, and performing.

HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHING STAFF
Our music teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as York University, Western University, Humber College, Mohawk College, and the University of Toronto. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of Canada and the US, and have years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
FAMILY SAFETY PLAN
Every parent is concerned about their children’s safety and well-being. The Academy of Music has invested thousands of dollars in our “5-Point Family Safety Plan” which helps parents ease their minds while their kids are at their music lessons. Our “5-Point Family Safety Plan” consists of:
• Every music lesson room has a video/security camera with viewing monitors in the lobby.
• Observation windows in every music teaching room
• Teaching faculty must have a current RCMP vulnerable sector police check.
• Office staff is on duty every day.
• Open Door Policy. Parents can sit in their child's music lesson at any time.

THE MUSICAL LADDER SYSTEM
We are the only music school in Burlington that gives their students the opportunity to earn special colour wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests. Do other schools offer prizes and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students by giving them full colour, really cool “Musical Ladder” wristbands that they can show off to their friends. The Musical Ladder is our unique method of music education that you can only get here.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY
Through various Academy of Music programs we have raised over $30,000 to date for Food4Kids Halton. We do this through our music recital fundraisers and events. Food4Kids provides packages of healthy food for kids aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend. Packages of healthy food are prepared by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend.

MUSIC RECITALS TWICE A YEAR
Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
In April and December many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We hold these at a beautiful venue with a grand piano, and all the equipment necessary to make you sound great. The recitals are held locally so you don’t have to travel for a world class recital experience.
All the profits from our music recitals go to Food4Kids Halton.

PROFESSIONAL OFFICE STAFF TO SERVE YOU
We are the only music school in Burlington that offers full time professional customer service for their students seven days a week. You can call, text, email, or Facebook Message all your music lesson questions and we’ll be there when you need us.
You are welcome to sit in and observe your child’s lessons at any time. If you prefer, you can wait in our comfortable lobby and enjoy personal time.
TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED & FULLY STOCKED MUSIC LESSON ROOMS
Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including amps, keyboards, pianos, and more. All you need to bring is your instrument. We have spent thousands of dollars on our studio to provide the best music lesson experience possible.

The Academy does not require full semester registration for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.

We offer private lessons in piano, guitar (acoustic & electric), voice/singing, violin, ukulele, and drums — all under one roof at our Burlington location. Online lessons are also available for most instruments.
Piano lessons can begin as early as age 6. Voice and singing lessons are available for children age 7 and up. We teach students of all ages through to adults — complete beginners are always welcome.
Absolutely. We welcome students from all walks of life — beginners through advanced, children through seniors. Our private one-on-one format means you learn at your own pace in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment.
We teach all styles — classical, rock, pop, jazz, country, blues, gospel, R&B, and more. Because lessons are private, you get to learn the music you actually love.
Yes! Both in-person and online lessons are available. Online lessons offer the same quality one-on-one instruction from the comfort of your home.
Lessons are priced at $44 for 30 minutes or $88 for 60 minutes (the 60-minute option is recommended for more advanced students). Music lessons are HST exempt.
There is a one-time $25 registration fee due at sign-up. Beyond that, we are proudly month-to-month — no long-term contracts, no semester minimums, no annual material or performance fees. Payment is by pre-authorized credit card.
We offer a Love Your Lessons Guarantee: if you are not completely happy within the first 30 days, we will help you find a better teacher fit — or refund your remaining unused lessons.

The Musical Ladder System® is our exclusive goal-setting program designed to keep students motivated with clear, achievable milestones. It's available only at Burlington Academy of Music.
Yes — we host all-inclusive recitals twice a year (a Christmas recital and a Spring concert). There are no extra performance fees. Students also have opportunities to perform at local festivals, community events, and senior's homes.
