About the Burlington Academy of Music
Since 1994 the Academy of Music has been a leader in music education. We have taught music to thousands of students from young children though to adults. Our Burlington studios offer private music lessons on piano, guitar, voice, violin, ukulele, and drums, at our convenient location at 1234 Advance Rd (just East of Guelph Line at Mainway).

PIANO
Introducing piano lessons to your children is one of the best things you can do for them! There are countless studies that show the value of learning music for all ages. The Academy of Music offers private piano lessons in Burlington for young children through to adults of all ages and levels from beginners, to intermediate & advanced.
GUITAR
Our one-on-one private guitar lessons in Burlington mean that the teacher can focus on your individual learning style. Private lessons also mean that you are able to learn the type of music you enjoy the most.
VOICE/SINGING
Burlington Academy of Music offers private voice and singing lessons for children age 7 and up or adults of all ages and levels. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, or R&B singer we have the right vocal teachers for you!
Students spend time in each singing lesson doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favourite recording artists, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.
UKULELE
Our Burlington ukulele lessons are great for all ages. Whether you want to play folk music, Beatles, or Jason Mraz, our professional teachers will guide you through the skills of reading music, improvisation, playing by ear, music theory, and performing.

HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHING STAFF
Our music teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as York University, Western University, Humber College, Mohawk College, and the University of Toronto. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of Canada and the US, and have years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
FAMILY SAFETY PLAN
Every parent is concerned about their children’s safety and well-being. The Academy of Music has invested thousands of dollars in our “5-Point Family Safety Plan” which helps parents ease their minds while their kids are at their music lessons. Our “5-Point Family Safety Plan” consists of:
• Every music lesson room has a video/security camera with viewing monitors in the lobby.
• Observation windows in every music teaching room
• Teaching faculty must have a current RCMP vulnerable sector police check.
• Office staff is on duty every day.
• Open Door Policy. Parents can sit in their child's music lesson at any time.

THE MUSICAL LADDER SYSTEM
We are the only music school in Burlington that gives their students the opportunity to earn special colour wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests. Do other schools offer prizes and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students by giving them full colour, really cool “Musical Ladder” wristbands that they can show off to their friends. The Musical Ladder is our unique method of music education that you can only get here.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY
Through various Academy of Music programs we have raised over $30,000 to date for Food4Kids Halton. We do this through our music recital fundraisers and events. Food4Kids provides packages of healthy food for kids aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend. Packages of healthy food are prepared by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend.

MUSIC RECITALS TWICE A YEAR
Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
In April and December many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We hold these at a beautiful venue with a grand piano, and all the equipment necessary to make you sound great. The recitals are held locally so you don’t have to travel for a world class recital experience.
All the profits from our music recitals go to Food4Kids Halton.

PROFESSIONAL OFFICE STAFF TO SERVE YOU
We are the only music school in Burlington that offers full time professional customer service for their students seven days a week. You can call, text, email, or Facebook Message all your music lesson questions and we’ll be there when you need us.
You are welcome to sit in and observe your child’s lessons at any time. If you prefer, you can wait in our comfortable lobby and enjoy personal time.
TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED & FULLY STOCKED MUSIC LESSON ROOMS
Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including amps, keyboards, pianos, and more. All you need to bring is your instrument. We have spent thousands of dollars on our studio to provide the best music lesson experience possible.

The Academy does not require full semester registration for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.
